A 1943 Shirtwaist Dress

Up on the table was a classic shirtwaist style dress from Eva Dress. This one came in two versions - with or without a collar and I chose the collar less version to shake things up. I love the tucks on the shoulders on this pattern, so subtle and so pretty and feminine. To make up this pattern, I chose this rayon from StevieSaintFabrics on Etsy. I bought this rayon last year and am now getting around to whipping it into something. I am so glad I chose this pattern for this fabric because the pattern's simplicity really let the wildness of this print shine through. To pick up on the grey flowers in the print, I used silver flower buttons and an old silver tone buckle for the belt. I'm not sure why but it photographed more gold than grey . . . The buttons were from my vintage mystery box from Emily's Vintage Visions.

And, drum roll, garment post pictures! I was finally in the mood for them after a long, much needed, break from it all. For this wearing, I chose white. I liked the clean clarity of the white against the blue and I chose pumps and a piece of WWII Sweetheart jewelry. The pumps are from BAIT Footwear and I love them. I have them in the white, shown here, and also the tan colorway too.
