Spring! Although to be honest it already feels like summer . . . We went from freezing cold to blazing hot in a matter of moments but that is Michigan for you. If you don't like the weather, wait a moment. To embrace the season, I am wearing a minty green cool rayon dress accented with a black abstract print of brush strokes. Well, to me they look like brush strokes. With the look I chose black. Not original but I thought it looked best. I chose my black straw hat and then black gloves, shoes, and beaded necklace. For added dimension a faux magnolia corsage.
I think of all my 40s hats, this one is the most dramatic. It sweeps upwards and then the velvet loops of the bows swoosh here and there. . . I love the texture of the straw too. . .It casts the most unique shadows. I am finding I am reaching for this hat a lot in styling my outfits . . .That tells me this was a good buy after all! At first, I was a bit nervous about it because it was so dramatic, but it seems to be a good fit on all counts.
I think it is an iconic 1940s style of hat and looks very spiffy on you!
