Celebrating Tulip Time Day 1: Veldheer's Tulip Gardens

Ah Tulip Time. I look forward to Tulip Time just as much if not more than Christmas. It's a celebration of spring, warmth, tulips, and anything and everything Dutch Culture. It is also when my sister comes to town for her annual visit, so we all get to play tourist which is a lot of fun. Our adventure began at Veldheer's Tulip Gardens which I think is one of the most beautiful places in Earth. There are rows, and rows of stunning tulips of almost every color and hue imaginable. Veldheers also makes and sells delft wear. Pieces imported from the Netherlands and pieces made right there with molds imported in. Every year I add a piece to my collection. It's my own tradition. Of course, our visit also includes a tour of the gardens which is breathtaking. This year we were very lucky. The weather threatened rain and the gardens were not too terribly busy when we were there. However, just as we were leaving, the crowds were coming in., Our timing was very good. After we left Veldheer's we hit the local antique shops and yes, I took home some treasures which I will show you all later on this month in my May Vintage Haul Post.
